Poem -

Phoniex

They tried to burn me with tongues of fire
Everyday a new desire
Smoke was spreading from all around
I didn’t even make a sound
Sparks flew out of the mouths that spoke
They laughed as if it was some jokeΒ
The flames licked at my every side
All I wanted was to hide
I felt the blaze spread over the earth
And started to question what I was worth
Then up from the ashes came a new light
A bird had been reborn and was ready to fight
But not just any bird, a phoenix was he
The one that came to conquer for me
Through him I saw just what I could beΒ
However he taught me that I should be me
So thanks to the bird that took over my pain
And showed me how to fight through the rain
