Pieces

Pieces of me ache in this haze,
As you dance with your demons.
I try to go on with my days.
Dishes, cooking and cleaning,
But the panic never fades.
If only I could take this from you.
Praying you will change your ways.

It's very difficult seeing someone we love and care about go through the cold, cruel clutches of addiction. The majority of the time we just feel so helpless and powerless to do anything about it.
This pretty much says the same thing I've just stated only far better and more poetically.
Nicely penned, Lori.

Thank you Dean. My son Brandon, I miss him so much. ?? Heroin is pure evil. I pray everyday that his demons will let him go. God bless.
You're welcome, Lori.
You'll both be in my prayers.
I have a younger brother named Brandon. His poison of choice is alcohol.
He's only 52 and already has alcoholic dementia.
Sad...
I know the pain... praying for your brother...
