“From the pieces that lie”

Where oh where,

Do I go from here?

Where oh where…

Is so unclear

Which pieces should

I pick-up first?

Picking up the pieces

Is really the worst

Bits of my life

Shatter like glass

Scattering everywhere

Piece by piece they pass

They all seem to tumble

Then lie there and wait

Waiting for me to reassemble them

It seems I control their fait

Maybe this time…

I’ll just leave them there

Maybe this time

I just can’t bear

But what life would I have

All scattered across the floor

This is getting exhausting

This internal war

I suppose I’ll pick-up the pieces

I’ll give it one more try…

I guess I’ll put my life back together

From the pieces that lie.
