PIERCE THE NIGHT ( and stretch the truth)

Dare I, stretch the truth?
And when in afternoon's late light
Beneath these implications
To swell a smile
In considering the God in things
Would it have been truly worthwhile
Politic, cautious, or meticulous
To stretch the truth
Through all their minds
That they might embrace
God's good light
Like so many living things
Do naturally

Perhaps
When in evenings waning light
And I have glimpsed
The moment of my greatest flicker
I shall wear white, and testify
As darkness grows ever nearer
For I have known the eyes
With which to Pierce The Night
The place
Where God might be seen by owls
But
Dare I stretch the truth
Beneath the choir
To stir this most holy desire
That we ALL
Love
One another,
Most humbly
And,
With God's good intent...
