During this play my mind wondered

During this play my heart beats 10x faster

During this play my legs tremble under me like a earthquake

During this play my hands ball up as if I was a boxer

The ball is hiked to the quarterback

My feet move like I'm playing the drums

A receiver runs towards me full speed

He cuts in and I yell “IN, IN”

The ball is launched into the air

It carries my team’s hopes

My team’s destiny

My team’s motivation

My team’s dreams

After this play my team stands in shock and disbelief

After this play I walk towards the sideline

After this play the ground spoke to me

“it’s your fault” “you could have did more”

A swarm of black jerseys pass me yelling with happiness

After this play I walk to my sideline in tears
