Please Don’t Take Him Yet

Please Don’t Take Him Yet

My precious angel Cody, today begins a brand new year;

One that I’ll have such trepidation, and live with constant fear!

For in seven weeks, you’ll be fourteen, an age your Brother could not reach;

And I pray you’ll live for much, much longer, of God I do beseech!

We lost Nico prematurely, I thought he’d get more years;

His passing almost killed me, the sum of all my fears!

So now there’s my sweetheart Cody, his little Brother who loved him very true;

Who too cries daily for his beloved Nico, for dogs have feelings too!

So I beg of our dear Creator, please don’t take him from my side;

Bless Cody with long longevity, and stop these tears that I have cried!

Because half of them are for Nico, one mate of my saddened soul;

The rest are for my angel Cody, the other half that keeps me whole!

Please hear my prayer my dear Lord, and shine your light down upon him;

For he now is my salvation, but I fear the Reaper Grim!

Please give me three or four years, before I have to say goodbye;

For if like his Brother, you take him too early, I too will surely die!

I like your poem, it sums up the relationship you build up with them from when they are puppies

I wrote my first poem about my little Bichon a few weeks ago, I put it on here and many people have viewed it since then, which I didn't expect and that was nice, your poem has similar sentiments, is yours a bichon? I couldn't quite tell.

Anyway I'm sure he loves you as much as you love him.

Well done

John

Hi my Larry,

This is another lovely heart tugging piece that shows all the love the three of us have for our Cody. I`m sure he knows how it makes you sad thinking about how time goes by so fast for us when we are trying to hang on to those we love, but he also knows that he is a lucky little man to have a daddy and mummy and his auntie G that adore him so much as he adores us too. Treasure every minute with him and give him lots of cuddles for me and kisses too and tell him every day that I love him very much.

I love my Larry and my Linda too

G xx

Our Dear G,

We are so grateful to have Cody, and give him hugs and kisses every chance we get.  He has this beautiful look in his eyes that speaks volumes, that let's us know how much he loves us too.  He knows he has this wonderful Auntie G, and perks his ears when we tell him where your kisses and hugs come from.  Your words are always so beautiful and heartfelt, they touch our souls deeply.

All our love to you,

Linda, Larry and Cody xxx

I love you all so much, I just wanted to tell you again today my darlings.

God bless you all, I pray every day that he keeps you safe for me, you are all always in my prayers from the minute I wake in the morning till I close my eyes at bedtime.

Give my little Cody a hug and a kiss for me again today too.

Lots of love always, I adore you all.

Love G xx

From your mouth to God's ear (as you usually say)...I pray God keeps Cody longer that you expect...He is the giver and taker of life...He'd hear our prayers!

My love to Linda and Cody
