Plum

I killed a plum tree I killed it
good and proper..
Victoria Plum slashed to the ground.
in heaps of ripe oozing flesh..
I killed a plum tree
with kindness and sucour..
poor Victoria plum...
an orchard veteran, in the hot Summer
her branches laden with delicious fruits
but no water..so I nailed a faucet to her roots
till she swelled and swelled..and they grew
to enourmous.. the ground beneath
her feet soft and porous..and she fell
laden branches weeping under pressure..
unearthed herself and keeled over..
Victoria gone forever..and thus I learned..
by accident of kindness you can kill something
you hold dear..never to return..
( I thus learned how to remove Conifer trees, by soaking their roots for days with a hose, and easing them out of the mud...all thirty of them little blighters)

Its symbolic...but it did happen..killing people with kindness..what a fab tree and I watered it out of the earth..
Hi Pauline, wonderful metaphor and BRILLIANT piece of advice. The firs at the bottom of my garden, their days are now numbered.
Soak the ground..dig round and they fall over..x
Thank you Pauline, they really are too tall. And I do love the metaphor
