Pockets full of tissues...

They are just names and numbers
one in, one out
we remember but then we forget
one in, one out
full of life but big hearts
can't find a place to be safe
pockets full of tissues but a mind full of stories
a glowing path of has made
we don't speak of what's to come
At the end of the day they are all alone
some have families some have none
the days grow short and sleep is their peace
when it's time to go, what you have left you give to me
memories, love, life, heartache and the good times you give to me
all the problems
all the history
all the love
all the promise
and all the hope
with these you give me shelter
more people need shelter
but the few care
Turning their backs on the old and dying
I will hold your hand and your heart until...
the day I have pockets full of tissue xXxÂ

Wow! Thank you very much for your kind words, I appreciate you saying so, thank you, one of my residents at work loved this one and asked for a copy of it to put on her wall. X needless to say she has pockets full of tissues also up her sleeves haha XÂ
I can relate to the tissues as my Mum has dementia  and when first diagnosed she had mountains  of tissues , up her sleeves, in her pockets and in her handbag! In fact anywhere she could stuff them bless her! Xxx
Yeah very true Lodigiana! I work with dementia and residential, have done for nearly 10 year now and each individual has their own magical ways but tissues are everywhere ha bless x
