Poems Written while Confined

The Telephone

Such the device. A way to escape and not pay
the confinement price.
In the past it was mounted on the wall where
I would make a call.
Others had that fancy phone on the night stand
near the bed.
My sister talked for hours with her dreamboat Ted.
Cellphones are now mobile; we all have one and they are small.
Private calls with GPS and the parent guide.
I am at the mall.
Is there a place to hide?
I think it was better to make my call
with the phone on the wall.
