POETRY VS PAINTING

A paint brush in hand it's time to draw 
What shall I paint I'm not really sure 
The sunset I've done a million times before
To be honest I don't want to paint anymore 

I will turn my attention to the spoken word 
It's all so fashionable and trendy or so I've heard 
I will write about my life and what's occurred 
Who needs a picture of a house or bird?

So I have my pen and paper and will start to write 
Words won't come to me though try as I might 
I have spent all day and most of the night 
Trying to get my life in poetry sound acceptable and just right

I will I think stick to painting that's what I do best 
I'm sorry to say I failed my poetry test
