Polaris

The 58th star, it's the eye of the needle

We take detours by songlines of constellations

Searching for that One who can save us

Myths lead us to many garden paths

Labyrinths that decorate these charts

Waters rise and fall, they ebb and flow

Darkness bellows to hide dim glow

We can steer by paddles and remain caught in fractals

Dreaming of wings like pterodactyls

But despite qiblas and mudras and good intentions

There's nothing that gets us safe from any of our inventions

There is one element that can turn our rudder round

Only one that can ensure we are not drowned

It is the Spirit of God that blows into our sails when we are strong

The same steering our wheel when we are weak

It is the dynamic that sets the rudder of our craft

That offers us true liberty from this sea
