Pommegranate

I have been tied to Hades
by a pomegranate seed,
for many years,
this sweet fruit of  pinkness, ,
I ate seed by seed with a pin,
Plucking out one by one,
like the daughter of the Corn God,
Persiphone tied in marriage to Hades, she ate of the fruit of
The Underworld and was barred, from life eternal on Earth,
Thus we have the dormant Winter, where nothing grows,
But in Spring buds burst forth
to greet the Sun..
Pomegranate.. don't eat with a pin,
Don't break the skin, batter the
flesh and crush the contents
under thumb, you feel the
pressure building,
then make a small hole and
suck out the juice, till the orb
is spent..
It is, the drink of the Gods..
