Poem -

Poor Penny Days

I bought me a world
In the poor penny days
Paid for with love
From a heart which was young

And many years passed
And that world was my own
It saw me through childhood
And into well grown

And I never had cause
To have doubt for each day
For I cared for my world
As instructions did say

Till one day I woke
To a creeping dark grey
And the sun wouldn't stay
And the sun went away

And in panic and horror
I took that grey stack
Threw it with vengeance
At the god's cheating back

And god fell down dead
And my world crumbled too
And with pennies redundant
What now can I do

For I've no world to live in
And no god to love
No place for home
And no pennies to rub

For I bought me a world
In my poor penny days
But the sun didn't stay
No, the sun went away.

Hi Marion, this is a brilliant peice of writing, it made me think of the lucky pennies and the inspiration we find from the mundane to bring us what we long for as youngsters. As we get older our belief system changes from Santa/tooth fairy..to reality and how we deal with the magic disappearing as we get older.
hope you are well

How terrible it must be if the wrong one is accused for years...

Everyone has trials and tribulations, everyone suffers loss sometimes, in their life...

It hurts and we don't understand the why...

Anger comes from many places...
