Possession

We try to fill a gaping hole with many possessions,
but it never seems to work,
it rebounds back on us and then were left chasing and wanting more.
The vacancy hasen't been eradicated,
all attempts to find satisfaction have failed,
the pleasure we derived has been swift,
weve gained little comfort from all the goods surrounding us.
Then guilt makes us give it all away, but are we content,
now were rid of all these useless things wev'e collected,do we feel cleansed,
now that wev'e de-cluttered and recycled.
How long will it be before our purchasing powers return,
and were buying it all back,
will we eventually go full circle and give in to temptation.
Because avoidance behaviours are easier to address than feelings of being empty,
because the real solution is to much of a task,
when we can get quick but temporary relief.
