Poulnabrone, forever home...?

Poulnabrone, a holy place
Of spirit souls and sacrifice
The ancient dwelling of the dead
Of misty past , the Burren tomb
That at the casting of life's dice
Did cause me to seek sanctuary
Inter myself in earthen womb
I fled the hearth of broken hearts
The embers of a bygone age
The compass arrow fortunes wheel
Turned from the ashes tempest blown
And deafened by the spurious peal
Sought grass, boreen and karstic stone
To destiny as yet unknown
Yet idly guided by the lays
T'ward dolmen of the Neolith
And summoned hence Kilcorney ways
The knoll of stratum Megalith
To dwell in hollow, limestone capped
Nocturnal fortress 'neath the stars
My thoughts as shadows monolith
'Twixt Mercury and Mars
In woven dreams, an almanac,
Of settlement in rustic idyll
A brocade loomed 'pon Zodiac
In slumber spun unravelled riddle
And milled the grain upon the querns
The roof and walls of grateful hovel
Awoken in epiphany;
To Erin's muddied middle!
As butterfly in freedom's flight
Abandoned windswept hill cocoon
To visions via horse and hound
That culminate in lighted Moon
I'd helter-skelter Corkscrew Hill
Then near three years I strode alone.
Unexpectation's wings unfurled
Could not descend too soon.....
