Poverty

Child, never experiencing a life,
Cries, heart that cannot keep silent,
Clothes, shredded in the wait of winter,
Food, not enough as they start to wither,
Need, spirit lost in the drought,
Love, sinner that never gives sight,
Home, ground tired of what it sees,
Coins, glimmer of hope for tomorrow,
Bronze, not enough to stop the noises,
Frown, people that keep ignoring,
Empty, no love to catch,
Bones, itching for a scrap of meat,
Smell, sprouts deepest realities,
Ignorance, devil reaches the surface,
Hopes, shattered from loss of sight,
Abyss, never looking upon,
War, between them and what’s gone,
End, fears that spread through the night.
