" PRAY TIME, WILL BE KIND .."

" PRAY TIME, WILL BE KIND .."

Beauty, is but as a flower
Which wrinkles and is devoured
By times brightness falling from the sky
Like princesses in their youth who die
I am sick, and aware that I too must die
Yet I pray, that time will be kind
For fond are life's lustful joys
Death, proves them all but toys
And none from heavens arrows can fly
But still I pray that time will be kind
And allow me a dance or two
Before the arrows make me bleed
Bringing me home to you
Where in a heavenly serenade
I am joined anew
By angels I am unfamiliar with
Alone, in a dance continued
From my many lives before
From times kindness
And the brightness
Falling from the sky......

Hey Tony! Have there ever been more honest words spoken? So true! I absolutely love the rhyme scheme and the way you danced with your words, that's how it's done! And the topic choice is so relatable, don't we all wish time will be kind. This was beautiful, rock on brother!

that's pretty....T, you got me with this one, pure poetic articulation and perfectly written, but who am I to tell you that a poem is perfectly written?  I should say that it spoke to the reader and I audibly heard the voice of Morgan Freeman after the second line, clear as a bell; I'm totally serious, scouts honour...yes, I suppose you're right, my friend; all we can ask is what you said....your poem has a 'Tis a consumation devoutly to be wished...' tone hovering above the lines, you def. have some Shakespear rattling around in this introspective soliloquy, very cool Sunday afternoon read....the man from Chicago!  Cheers, pal, and thank you for posting.  the pull quoted lines need no explanation, simply breathtaking in elegant truth...

CHRIS ~ thank you....I hoped, and even mentioned to a friend that you would read this .............I knew, that of ALL people in the world.......... including Miss Sumner.......... that YOU would find the heart of this..........I even knew that you would find some soliloquy here......... and , of course there is the truth of the matter............    "I am sick, and aware that I too must die.    Yet I pray, that time will be kind.."......... Thank you for this brother...........I am MORE than pleased that it found its way to you............. Love to you and yours................ smiles,,..........T xo
