I cannot remember how many times i have prayed

about you

about having you

God knows the love i once held

it was the bitterest tears i was forced to swallow

it was the deepest trap i got myself into

i never regretted

at least i had a free ticket to hell

Sometimes you gotta walk through the fires of Hell to realize that paradise is right there in your own back yard.
In other words, we don't know what we've got until it's gone.
Then, there are those times when we wish we could just let go, move on and get on with our lives...but we can't seem to manage it.
So, whaddaya do?
Wallow in self-pity?
No one likes a whiner.
We write, and we write poetry—as frequently and as often as possible.
Poets are known to wear their hearts on their sleeves.
I do, but black is my favorite color, so...
