Prayers in Abaddon

I.Ā

Destroyer hiding in the dark

What freightens us most is the Unknown

And yet you come

Nothing can stop you

Our world shall go the way of other worlds

Alleviate our demiseĀ

We'll be kinder to one another, so you can see what we need

Don't torment us as our sins deserve

You rule allĀ

Nothing and no one can stop you

You will remain once we're goneĀ

So what does it matter if you go easy on us

II.

Is that what you call me?Ā

Have I hidden my light from you?Ā

Was I ever absent?Ā

Have I not stopped myself for your sakes?Ā

If I wanted the earth to be the same as other planets, would I have not already made it so?Ā

How is it you presume I don't want the other planets to be like the earth?Ā

You are right when you say you are in demise, but I am not gloatingĀ

Kinder! Pshh... how many times have I heard that?
Ā
Are you seriously going to preach to me about mercy?Ā

Isn't my longsuffering of your collective wickedness self evident?Ā

I am Lord, true

But I am delighted to share my life with you

I have done everything and yet nothing seems to satisfy you

I have shown blessing

I have shown mercy

I have shown terror

I have punished

And I have forgiven

You matter to me
