Premature Fame

Inspired By Rose Sho’s Haiku “Nico”

You’re becoming very famous Angel, people around the world know of your name;

But I wish you still were here with us, instead of this “premature fame”!

For I always thought you’d live much longer, outlast your breeds longevity;

I thought at least four or five more sweet years, you’d still be loving me!

But you were not yet quite fourteen years old, on that saddest Valentine’s Day;

A Saturday when you did not feel well, two days later, you’d float away!

That was almost twenty months ago, yet my heart’s still broke in two;

But even when it’s been twenty years, I’ll still be loving you!

Because a piece of my soul is now missing, irreplaceable, forever bare;

For it was reserved for my precious Nico, only you could fit in there!

I find some solace and alleviation, when I see your name up in the lights;

But when the days turn into darkness, I suffer sleepless nights!

So I write these poems in the wee hours, I make your name, to all be known;

I’ve met wonderful people on CosmoFunnel, whom love to me have shown!

For they honor you with words of caring, and have made you family;

But I’d trade it all, in just one heartbeat, to have you still right here with me!
