Poem -

Pretend

Be good and show some respect
Go to therapy and take your meds
There’s a good girl
Do not speak your mind as it’ll cause friction
Don’t make it obvious he’s still got an addiction
Pretend to be happy and fake a smile
Or say how you feel and be called a child
Don’t mention the time he mocked you it’ll cause an atmosphere
My eyes apparently change when I’m angry so I need to get the fuck out of here
Please stop shouting at my dog, he picks up on my stress
It’s ok boy, mummy knows you best
Fell asleep with the bible on my chest
All I want is some rest for my head
Be good and show some respect
Don’t be a pessimist and up your meds
There’s a good girl
