Poem -

Pretty Lies and Ugly Truths

Mirrors are just bits of glass
No more than glass you seeĀ
Yet the person I am staring at the glassĀ
Is not that very pleasedĀ
For looking at the thing I see
I pick out all these flaws
These flaws consume consume my mind for meĀ
Crawling through my thoughts
It’s a shame I can’t see through the glass
As impossible as it sounds
It was so very possibleĀ
Before the ridicules got this loudĀ
And now we, as society, have made
Beauty so select
Now beauty is this skinny stickĀ
There’s no room for the restĀ
So we are forced to turn to conformityĀ
To please each other’s eyes
Yet beauty is not the same to me
Variety is beauty in disguiseĀ

Beauty is much more than society makes it to be... Even greed is beauty nowadays... But not for me!!
For me your poem belongs to beauty too
