Poem -

Promise To Myself

I only got a pair of shoulders
How much weight can I put on them,
All these problems in the mirror
I can’t runaway from them,

Never said that I was perfect
But I’m not your average person,
Did some things I really shouldn’t of
In my mind I’m paying for it,

Watch me keep this shit together
Like the buttons on my cardigan,
I know what’s deep inside,
It’s the pain that I was harnessing

It’s hard to find direction,
When at war with your reflection
And you drop down to your knees,
And still you don’t receive a blessing

But it’s faith that keeps you going,
It’s the chemistry of knowing...
If it’s life you gotta master
Then I’m searching for the golden

Glow then,
I’m about to go in...
And put a little heat next to
A heart that’s frozen... Broken

Just a little,
Parts missing like a ball wiffled...
It’s time to put the pieces together
I know it’ll...

All trickle
Like pennies, quarters,
Dimes and nickels...
Here’s a hundred,
Give me change man
