Poem -

Pulled apart

the night falls in a heavy, suffocating cloak, cold and alone are we.
the emotion for which you lust
flares once, then dies,
smothered by your obsession.
all hope must end.

your love is no more.
how could you abandon me?
our dark emotions surround us, crying,
we have lost our light.

You chose your words wisely, it holds darkness throughout. You've intertwined nostalgia, abandonment and the evanescent nature of relationships, all encompassed under the suffocating cloak.
