Poem -

Put Me To Stud

Put Me To Stud

Hot breath steaming
Trapped in the stalls
Narrow odds and handicapped
High fences and falls

Shout at the TV
The jockey riding my back
The going is soft
Unforgiving is the track

The crowd cheers
As I finish the race
The peak of my career
I'm put through my pace

A short cut through life
No more chewing the cud
Inspire me
Retire me
Put me to stud

Thank you Gerard, this poem just 'happened' last night when I was drinking and listening to a friends conversation about horse racing.

My Dear Friend Syd,

I have raced around life's oval
In the Sunshine and the mud
But now, I've grown weary of my journeys
Please put me out to stud

Peace and Love,
Larry xxx
