The Queen's Pity
There was once a young lad
who grew kind of sad,
so he found an old cave
and began to dig his grave.
You see,
he disliked the Queen and her city,
and she thought it to be quite a pity.
To rekindle the Duke's burning passion,
she appeared at his door, dressed in her latest fashion.
She saw he was poor
so she offered him a map
and said, "Pick a door".
That door became magic,
he knew not how it could be!
But the Queen looked upon him
and smiled in deceit.
She regained the Duke's trust
and continued the game as she must.
For soon she would say,
"it's time that he pay".
And when that day came,
he would crawl to the cave
where he had once dug his grave.
And thus marked the end of the Queen's pity
on the man who had once disliked her and her city.

Thank you (: It's by far my favorite!
Ciara,
A lovely free style poem that not only tells a story, but engulfs the reader, as it is told as well. A very enchanting story,(i may add), of a fortune never to be had,to be lost,by he, only his trust,(once again,)in his deceptive queen.Job well done....You should try story writing as well, if you don't already....
Cheers,
Jim
