R E V O L U T I O N

Like 1 Pin it 0As the world tumbles and turns
great red danger
As the world breaks into a raging fire
And the anger spills onto
Fuming streets
As the people shout for change
Flags to the ready
As the children march with their mothers and fathers
The infirm call for God's hand
As the people cry upon the streets
Marching into the sun
Fighting for
R E V O L U T I O N
Thy will be done
On this day
In this moonlight
Commits the people to shout
R E V O L U T I O N
In the anger
The dust
With the blood that has been spilt upon these city streets
Lord; protect the people
With an outstretched hand
And a rifle
With a temper to protect the soul;
To protect the children of today
The mother of tomorrow
The father of yesterday
REVOLUTION
With the child asleep
Under a velvet sky
With stars;
stars of hope
REVOLUTION
REVOLUTION
REVOLUTION
With the wheel of time
Gunshots in the air
Life and death
And the ghosts of yesterday's war
In the killing fields of
Every great war
REVOLUTION
Has come again
As the tide seeps
A child weeps
For mother and father
Dead in red rags
REVOLUTION

Hi Cherie; thank you for your thoughts; it is sad as you say - well the revolution brings change - it is sad; Think about how many people died in South Africa until apartheid was lifted; it is sad.
Thank you once again!
Best wishes Jai:)?
Jai, you 'smashed' this poem, this is brilliant, reminds me of Hemingway in places, passion, tone construction, whatever you can think of that makes a poem superb, is in this one, hugs my brother...tribute
This is why blood is red!
Thank you for your time to read a poem Chris
I attempt to reflect the energy and
honour the dead who fought.
My freedom is directly due to the
revolution.
LuV Jai:)
