" RACISM " (a childhood memory)

" RACISM " (a childhood memory)

With deep affection
And deeper still
My recollection,
Those school yard sounds
Boys chasing girls
Round and round...

My nose firmly pressed
To the schoolroom's glass
Watching them have fun,
As I did my penance
For things I hadn't done..

After the final bell
Children ran for their buses
But I stayed behind
Wondering
What the bloody hell?

In the quiet of the room
I gathered my courage
I stood, and I asked
What had I done wrong?
"Nothing young man
It's just that
Your skin is too brown"...

On the long walk home
I figured it out
It wasn't me
It was them
They,
Were in the wrong town....

Hey t racism should have no place in this world . People should be judged on how you are not by the color of your skin. A very wonderful write . The polticians need to read this and wake up and quit stirring up trouble when there is none . Can we just love one another like Jesus wants . My respect to you bradford

So sad, but the last words of this piece are very empowering! We very well know racism and every other "ism" will be ever present in this system of things. If only...if only the victims of such would become determined survivors as the one depicted here!
