Heavy rain falls hard.
Daytime depressingly dark.
All around a sea of umbrellas.
Umbrellas coloured pink for the ladies and dark for the fellas.
Street lights shine their flickering light.
Its daytime but you would think it’s bloody night.
A cold wind blows down from the northern lands.
Everyone wearing gloves on their hands.
Cars drive by with their windows steamed up.
Down and outs in shop doorways take shelter and strong whiskey and beer they sup.
Sky above so black and depressing.
Two young lovers standing under shelter each other caressing.
Stray dogs look unhealthy their coats matted and wet.
In reality these poor souls need a visit to a vet.
