I live on Lake Shore Drive, so from my window I can see the lake
Today it's raining hard, so for me there's no escape
I'll wait out my fearsome opponent, with a semblance of patience
But I need desperately to go outside to fence with my exasperation
At being stuck indoors so long, because of an illness that's crippling me
The walls have become so strong they no longer hinder, they're binding me
And it's these rainy day impression's, that slap me in the face
Reminding me that it's not so bad, being bedridden when it's raining
Did you know it takes a raindrop, 40 seconds to maneuver it's way down
The full length of the window pane, at this rate the frame will drown
It's these rainy day impression's, boring, though they may seem
Are like a friendly stranger, coming to pay a visit on me
And although I feel it fraudulent, to make a false impression
I just needed someone to know, that I've learned a lasting lesson
When you're stuck inside yourself, because of health or poverty
It's ALL about the friends you've made, to keep you company
To help maintain your sanity
To promote your dignity
And then,
To finally help you see
That right outside your window,
The sun is shining,
Unconditionally.....

The sun shines through friends even though you can't get outside .....that's art and poetry all in one Tony......all I can say is that you have shown you have more love,strength and commitment not to disintegrate than a lot of moaners I have known or know.... I don't usually write a long comment but this pulled at my heart for one reason....you have the great soul of a writer who feels ....so this helps others ...your outlook on life ...your experience...even if a soul is feeling like they are caged in their mind.....they can have freedom because there is a part that can be strong....you are a great example of that....just use your inner love........xoxo
