A Rant about Movies--(from a quiet man who writes poetry)

The Death of the American Hero Pleeease

I am so tired of the movies

The Hollywood ones that is.

In the end of the movie plot,

if a plot exist at all,

there will be the hero

pulling out his gun or

laser beam annihilator.

Blowing away the bad guy

or alien monster

who has weapons built in

to his alligator skin body.

I want British heroes back.

in my movies

Sherlock Holmes

and

the hapless Doctor Watson

 or

the British bobby

funny hat and a police whistle

shouting stop thief

or else

I will shout stop thief again.

No gun in sight.

Give me an intelligent hero

one that solves crimes

with his noggin and the villain

Perplexed by his superior intelligence.

Goes quietly muttering

Fair cop you got me there guvnor.

Anything but some

Muscled brained wife beater

With an Oozie or rocket launcher

teaching our kids to solve issues

with violence.
