Really!? All this anguish, crying and pain, all over a damn computer game

Really?
All this anguish,
Crying and pain,
All over a damn computer game!?
Really?
All this Shouting,
Screaming and shrieking,
All over a damn computer game!?
Really?
They run about in a virtual world,
Then once out in the real one,
it’s like their brains have been tapped and the adrenaline about them,
is still in their brain swishing and swirling.
Pent up anger from online banter,
Putting up signs saying “Do not enter.
Again it’s the computer game brain,
Takes a little while to adjust,
But in that moment,
You think your child could be clinically insane.
Fits and wobbles over turning it off,
Hits and squabbles when they’ve all had enough.
They come out with all guns blazing,
Knife blades gleaming and the real world loses all meaning.
Once their minds have been warped,
It’s like the games they play on dull their feelings.
They shout at you more,
The further down that path they go,
Anger like before they have never shown,
All because my kids have turned into computer game drones.....
I take them out and all they ask is when they’ll be back,
Taking all the t.vs under computer hijack.
No matter what i do with them,
It’s always the same,
Really?
They want to get back to that damn computer game!
My ex wife has let it destroy my kids lives,
Letting them play games that i wouldn’t otherwise.
As the full time parent surely it should be my choice,
But as it’s come from their mothers voice,
I’m the bad one,
I’m nasty,
Im strict,
So I changed my outlook and out the window my ideals I flicked.
Being the full time single dad,
I didn’t want our relationship to turn horribly bad,
It’s not just yet,
But I guess if they carry on,
A hard job ill have to keep the family going strong.
6,,8 and my third is 11,
and all they do is argue and fight,
Life without any consoles would feel like heaven.
Without those mindless computer consoles,
I believe my children would be calmer and i’d get less nonsense.
So thank you ex wife,
For introducing 18+ games into my kids already precious lives.
So if you are reading this,
And your child has not yet got one,
If you don’t want to part mentally lose them,
Just be harsh and remember this poem.

The mind is a strange and mysterious thing.
Especially that of a child. They dont realise the detrimental affect it has on their brain and their livesÂ
