Rebirth?

Rebirth?

With the blazing rain of guilty blood, it showers down like the black death
Like serpents that crawl our land, they eat like devils, In a burning hell
With ankles deep in a forbidden grave, symbology has written a historian slave
Sleeping giants are under the covers, studies show that visions never change

As a rebirth, would we ever be so selfish into thinking we are complete
As religion, will the sacred truth ever reveal itself to the holy breed
As a population, is our own destruction being manipulated and controlled
As mass murder can be created, I'm staring into the eyes of a black crow

From voices of the people
To a church tower steeple
Is this a suffering creation?
Will we witness a dying nation?

Let the bell ring out over the iron filled sky to drown out humanities lies
If all we have left is our soul, why are we so hungry to run and hide
Let the river flow through this city of mine, to wash away the sins of the world
If all that we carry is guilt, why not live and try to love, on this once beautiful earth

Forgive and forget all the devastation
Let's invent, create, using imagination
For true happiness, we're still searching
Science or religion? we're still learning

Wow, Wayne!
I was blown away by the stark reality of this scathing poetic tirade on the fate of humanity.
I couldn't agree with you more.
Were we created just so we could suffer incessantly?
I'd like to think that wasn't the case.
But...who knows for sure?
Great epic, sir!

Wayne, i read this aloud, I got shivers down my spine as if calling the dead from the earth, as if I was reading this to the nation and at the end my heart eased, thank you for the end.
