RECONCILE

The two were broken
Born billions of blocks beyond
Any hope of existing in the same
Neighborhood, gone
The two were scattered
Here and there
Jupiter to the Moon
The magnetic sophistication
Of gravity keeping them apart
Like positive and negative energy
Worlds apart
Still
They felt each other
They knew they'd find a way
Perhaps
Across generations
They'd reconcile one day.....

They knew they'd been in love
Many, many times
This life
They had no answers
Perhaps another life
And so they waited patiently, quietly
Listening for the sound of the other
Trying to focus the light
That beamed between them
Through this and other lives
And when the day arrived
It was not a formal Ball
Or some global celebration
It was much simpler
Much sweeter
Than they both had imagined......

She came home from work one day
And he was in her kitchen
Back turned away, preparing her favorite dish
She dropped her packages
He spun to find her there
She looked at him and grinned
And then he simply said
"Welcome home my dear
I knew I'd find you here!".........
