Redemption ( in the flames )

Redemption ( in the flames )

When I have nothing left to gain, I find redemption in the flames. Death is such a warm embrace, a shadow that reflects the pain. I'm not afraid at all of life, I fear the things I can't describe. I know I'm not afraid to die, cause you can't kill what's dead inside. I'm scared to think just who I was, when I was weak, when I was young. When all I had in life was drugs, the days I spent alone and numb. Standing still on solid ground, not broken down but stronger now. I took the long way home again. I lost myself but gained a friend. And even though I've never changed, a part of me remains the same.
