Reflections

Reflections

~~Reflections

Forgive me my mobile is set to off.
No more noise please no more noise.
Only fresh ambient light for this day.
Sitting in the garden by her chair
Encircled by the flowers she planted.
Now a gaudy cacophony of colors
As if to reflect her wild spirit
always bright and so full of life.

No more phones ringing this day
Softened hesitant voices almost whispering
Had I heard she is dead?
That woman I had once loved beyond life.
Reduced to nothingness
alone in her grave.
Yes I had heard

The day was too warm
the sky too blue
And the clouds
 too puffy and white.
Yes I had heard

For this day I must reflect of her
Of what was once us.
Reliving her smile her joys her love.
My hand touches her favorite lawn chair
Gripping the cold metal arm
Like it was her hand.

The incredible blue sky is patched
by passing white clouds.
Changing shape from
bear to rabbit
to nothingness.
As we had.
As she had.
