Reflections Of Green

A green lake wept it secrets
In the summer still one day
It's melancholy ripple, gazing up
And far away
It tears traced the gorgeous
birds
As freedom held their wing
It mourned to hear their music
As air called them out to sing
It looked about its earthbound
soul
As just water
In a gaping hole
Yet all that mine eye there did
see
Was loveliness and great
beauty, yet
Green lake only wept and
wept
Reflections of its angst
Of dreams to be that
Something more, for
It yearned to be a cloud
And soar
Away...

Beautiful poem , I loved the ending lines with the rhyming scheme:
“Reflections of its angst

Superb, simply superb.
It feels as if one is in a dreamscape after reading and light as feather.
Beautiful, beautiful writing Marion and you close on a yearning to be a cloud and soar away, which is breath taking to read and take poetry solace from.
A magnificent piece and thank you for making my night with your poetic touch of class and expressed beauty.
It's a good feeling to be poetically bowled over Marion and thank you for doing that my friend.❤️
