Regret

Regret

Sentries at the window,

searching for their savior.

The one who'd never let them down.

Hoping for a miracle -

- then I came along.

It's been ten long years,

in a forgotten little place.

Where I pretended to shine!

While you dulled just fine.

Forgot what's important!

You became second thoughts.

Left to your device,

my weakness left you naught.

Too often left alone -

Now today you're both long gone.

I helped you burn a father's love -

- all these tears can't put me out.
