Poem -

Remember to Forget

Alone in a crowd,
walking pre-proud –
what does it amount
to?
Up there on a cloud,
not even a shroud
of the vows I vowed
to
not open that door
to a room no more,
with
painful paintings,
decaying décor,
I’ve been here before
with you.

When you said “let’s go”,
I was beaming so
brightly to know
you.
Somewhere in the south,
a kiss on the mouth,
your tongue knew no drouth,
too,
and the music played,
and everything swayed,
and the lines were laid,
and the piper paid,
and the choice was made
for the world to fade
out of view.

The place is so still,
a chilling pre-chill –
why doesn’t it pass
through?
Down here on the ground,
my spirit is bound
to when it had found
you,
and I close once more,
the door of before,
to the room that tore
my heart in two.

Hello Wordsmith

Wow this is melodic to read. I could feel a pulse and music behind each word. Very well penned. A sad yet beautiful write
