"Remember When"

Once upon a time We loved Our Neighbors and doing right
Much, much more than Ourselves We did
Then along came evil with inventions of snares
Some were fascinated by it now for the Evil do bid.
We used to stand ready and willing to die
All in the defense of truth and right
Now We cower in shameful fear of death
Which only discloses Us as a miserable sight.
We used to come the Aid of Poor and Needy Peoples
To do whatsoever We could to Be of help
Through the false sense of wealth from wayward Beings
We now use the Poor and Needy to fill cracks underneath Our steps.
When time to bake cakes We borrowed flour and sugar
And then maybe an egg or two
But pride and false wealth has since directed Our steps
Now it's if I did this then so can You.
We used to make time to check on the older Ones
As well We offered Them rides
Until arrogance and sin that Some invited in
Now We gotten foolhardy and boastful with pride.
Anytime We disobeyed Our Parents
The whippings were never in no way withheld
Now many of Us do speak of being Grown Up
And with stiff-necks have no time or help for Ones who have fell.
In the beginning We were taught to live and do right
For this would assuredly determine Our end
Now if Anyone got lost along the way
We say You must reunite with the Ones who yet Remember When! Amen
