Poem -

ridding my thumb

My thumb goes up and the cars just keep passing me bye, you seeΒ Β  I am ridding my thumb back home again.Β  This time I won’t leave you again, I left months ago why I am not sure but if you will have me back I will stay ever more.

I am ridding my thumb back home to you another car passes me bye, but with each step I take I am closer to home and you, I got mad and walked out on you and should have stayed instead.Β  My thumb goes up and the cars just keep passing me bye.Β

I sent you post cards from the towns I passed through, I am praying that you will have me back again, I am ridding my thumb back home to you, this time I won’t leave you again, I left months ago but I am not sure why.

My thumb goes up and a truck stops and I will be home soon and I will no longer be ridding my thumb back to you, soon I will be in your arms again never to part from you.
