RIP Granddaddy!
My heart pounds fast as we approach the small town.Im super excited because I know Grandpa just drove 12 hrs to come down.Jump out the car and see him sitting on the front porch chilling in a chair. Howdy he'dΒ greet us as we walk up the stairs. Then we'd talk for hours and hours about deer, the creek, and school and he'd give us stuff from his truck that grandma sent down like books, and toys that were cool.Little by little he stoped coming down, and couldn'tΒ drive anymore, so I packed my bags ready to see him in New York. Every time we went to the hospital to visit him he had a long order.Bring me back some pecans he'dΒ say and don'tΒ forget my fish, I also want a cocoa cola, next thing u know he'sΒ got a list and if we told him he couldn't have something he would have a fit and tell us not to worry about what he could and could and could not get.So we'd go away to collect his goodies and bring a little back and he'd look at us and say, well where's the other half? Seeing him wither away slowly with tubes throughout his body I prayed to God a million times to take his pain away and give it all to me. Memories are stored within my mind, of the love he gave to me,of love that's hard to find that he spead throughout the whole family. I'llΒ meet him at the golden gate where we'llΒ live forever, but until that lovely day forgetting him is a never. RIP Grandpa I Love you!
