Rituals

See you later honey

Rituals

Rituals
by
Jude kyrie

Even after all the years
of our marriage my love.
I find that I have a habit
Perhaps a daily ritual by now.

When I leave you
 with our children
In the early morning
As I go to work.
I kiss you a quick
Goodbye honey kiss
 on the cheek.

Then I always
touch a careless
lock of your hair.
And fold it
from your forehead.
back into place.

Like a mother's finishing
touch to her child for school.

More as a sentiment of my love
Letting you know that you
still belong to me.

And that my small ritual
of revision
Is my deepest form
of affection.
