See you later honey

Rituals

Even after all the years 
of our marriage my love.
I find that I have a habit
Perhaps a daily ritual by now. 

When I leave you
 with our children 
In the early morning
As I go to work.
I kiss you a quick
Goodbye honey kiss
 on the cheek. 

Then I always  
touch a careless
lock of your hair.
And fold it 
from your forehead.
back into place.

Like a mother's finishing
touch to her child for school. 

More as a sentiment of my love
Letting you know that you
still belong to me.

And that my small ritual 
of revision
Is my deepest form 
of affection.
