River Of Oblivion

River Of Oblivion

Oh God,
She's died~pulse less it's true,
God, mother cries
I followed you,
Into darkness nothing
Refrain your hand
To see it your way.

A way littered
Of ground fog
What I could barely see, shown,
Where souls made out to be stepping stones,
From all around sensations impended on me,
Sorrow, despair, all sins here seem freed.

Tokens by hand waved,
Concealed black clothed ferryman~you paid,
And I snuck close, not enough to be seen,
In one's bewilderment what does it all mean,
End of line, drifting journey,
For centuries it seemed,
You step where nothings left
Head slightly turn't round~knowingly tease,
Who leads you blind, vision of a dream.

Out of darkness spit, river sparkling blue,
Huddle round men women and children~confused,
Await their turn, palid faces, powerless stand
To plunge arms of cupped fingers
And drink river waters out of hand,
By sight their knowing can be seen to forget,
I beseech her, forbidding, I cannot let,
My love, drown of forgetfulness.

Lips mold a thin smile,
Shaking head as if to scold a small child,
Spoken words,
Her words, come out in a vow,
Life of the living is meaningless now
Only way to promise land~waters anoint
Forget old life, prove my point,
She drank, looked ready~soul ascending,
Thirsty me I followed, to reincarnations
Happy ending.

Aww shucks T smiles from me, i have been reading the old greats and iam a huge fan of greek mythology and my imagination kicked in. This is about the river of lethe which is one of many in Hades and its significance is if you drink the waters it makes you forget, some of the belief behind it is that it prepares the soul for reincarnation. T this means so much to hear that from you thanks brother.
