Road Work

Road Work

Serpent of lights
Go weaving round well placed cones
Two dragon's eyes flame up
Workers on the night load.

In the morning dark surrounded by reflective rays
Demon traffic pounds uneven ground
Road rules evil disobeys
Speed has found another one down.

Death driver with kills fresh on the mind
Growing forgetful of want
Upon ghost highway blind
He's become the hunt of haunt.

Clinging to the bumper
Climbing across the windshield
Mutilated fingers point at dead men
Road work signs all say yield.

Be prepared to stop
Now desperate driver feeling sorry heavy with breath
Workers of the road come from the grave
Bringing road raged demons to death.
