Roads To Darkness

At night it rains
Time seems to tip toe
Threw the streets like a naked child
Afraid to get wet
But soaked none the less
Laughing weeping
Threw puddles of innocense
Lamps as big as trees
Follow winding roads
And like snakes of light
Cars go by
Guarded by concrete paths
Sculpted by human hands
The great civilization
Of the over grown path
But out there
Beyond the bricks and Kerbs
A mysterious world sings wails
Announces its existence
To the watching moon
Shadows and shapes
Dance and change
Eyes move to the patter of feet
Some things liveΒ
And some things die
Deep in the dark of the Forrest
On the road
All is known
And the night cruelly chases the day
Tick toc tick toc
Checkmate shouts the king
From inside his concrete walls
Apparently safe and sound
But fiends speak in empty rooms
And in echoes
Consciousness drowns
Like a caterpillar
Changed to a butterfly
Prisoner to a crysalis of stone
Force of habit drowns mankind
And nations sinkΒ
Like Titanics
And into the sea
The world will drown
God's will weep from beyond the clouds
Atlantis gave life
And she shall
Take it away
A strange face rules
Man obeys
