Poem -

Robbed of Everything but You

Blood dripping from my toes

I walk into a maze of destruction

Scattered bits and pieces

Everything I have ever owned

I drag myself into what was our kitchen

Broken chairs, burned books, chipped cups

My tears fall as you picked me up

Wrapping your arms around me so tightly

And we started to dance

Dancing across broken glass

And creaky wooden oaked floors

Where our dreams once existed

Dancing with you

Elegantly, swiftly

As the peace in the air floated along with us

Drifting us into what was left

I want nothing more than this

Our lives being shattered to pieces

And picked up together

To mirror an image

Of nothing

But a couple dancing

To the beat of love

Excellent write!  It's hard to deal with some unknown stranger breaking into your home and rending it to pieces.  It's a rape of privacy.  How wonderful that you can pick up the pieces with love!  val
