Roll and break

Roll and break

I long to go back to my childhood home to paddle my toes and taste salty foam
I need my fix of briney blue to heal my heart and feel anew
Please isolation let me run free, I have to go to the oceanic sea

My soul is yearning for the sandy beach but I cannot walk there it is out of my reach
Oh I beg of you in this moment in time let my heart heal in the sea’s sublime
My imagination wanders away to the days with my bucket and spade in play

Building sandcastle Oh so high, piling the sides to keep it dry and then the water laps the shore trickling in my fortress floor
Seeking little sea shells upon the sand and holding them to my ears with my hand
Oh how I think my heart shall ache if I cannot watch waves roll and break
