Rose Garden

.

Rose Garden

Ā
Ā
Believe me, when I tell you
every new day is wasted on meĀ
the sunlight can stay where it is
stay in, behind those black clouds
the clouds that hide the truthĀ
Ā
the sun is deadĀ
at least to me
Ā
it turns out, darknessĀ
is my only friendĀ Ā
protecting me from my lonelinessĀ
no need to see the sunriseĀ Ā
I don't want it to shine its warmthĀ
upon my face numb
numb with lossĀ
Ā
every day is darkĀ
and it's the way I prefer to see itĀ
after all love has diedĀ
Ā
I accept my fateĀ
but stillĀ
I'd like to give my reader
my true and most sincereĀ
apologies
because my words are harshĀ
Ā
where love goes to dieĀ
is a place I hope none of youĀ
ever have to be

but, if you are…
Ā
don't forget to bury it deepĀ
deep on the underside
of your very own rose garden.

Written for one of my most favourite poets Melvin, who taught me to write from my heart, and I try to honour his words always.Ā

Thank you my dear Marion, I write this with much knowledge as to how it feels although it's not my personal pain, I write for those whom I love that have lost their very own. Thank you my dear Marion. Always a pleasure to hear your voice on my work. šŸ’™

Hi Shirley,
I bury my love with honeysuckle,
she liked the scent,
It's like heaven because
that's where she went.
Love,
Terry.
xoxo :)
