The Royal Court

The Royal Court

A good time was had by all

In the medieaval banquet hall

Ladies swirling in satin dresses

Men giving sweet caresses

Music sounding out aloud

The king on high sitting proud

Courtiers singing old songs

Wine and beer to the throngs

Jubilation was the order that day

The kingdom heard the Cryers say

A son , a son , an heir to the throne !

Monuments to be carved in stone !

Peace would spread throughout the land

Governed by a gentle hand !

So times of stability were guarenteed

Because the king had done the deed !

The queen smiling , babe in arms

No one could resist her charms

Jesters playing their joyous game

Nothing would ever be the same

Crowds gathering outside court

A glimpse of the family is what they sought

Knights on one knee when told

An awesome stght to behold !

For all who loved the king

It was now time to sing !

A son, a son , an heir to the throne

The greatest day we have ever known !
